Over the past few years, work to improve supports for member health and wellness has been a major focus of NWTTA advocacy work. Steps forward include:
A partnership between the NWTTA and the GNWT Department of Education, Culture and Employment through the Education Renewal Initiative now provides a 2-year access for members to the Starling Minds Health and Wellness online Toolkit developed specifically for educators.
Look for Health and Wellness resources in the NWTTA newsletter and in this new section of the website. Here you'll find helpful articles, resources, videos, workshops and other PD opportunities to enhance and support member health and wellness. While the NWTTA continues active advocacy for improved and more supportive conditions of professional practice, it is hoped that members will find these resources useful and beneficial as they strive to maintain and/or establish, a healthy work-life balance.
In the meantime, rest assured that the NWTTA continues advocacy for improved conditions of professional practice with employers, Ministers and MLAs and the Department of Education, Culture and Employment.
