School Division:           

Located in Inuvik, NT, the Beaufort-Delta Divisional Education Council (BDEC) is the most northerly school board in the Northwest Territories. This division is responsible for about 200 school administrators, teachers and support staff.

BDEC’s NWTTA members include teachers and school administrators. These members are governed under a collective agreement with Government of the Northwest Territories.

Inuvik, NT – Population 3,608

Inuvik is the government centre and transportation hub for the Western Arctic and is also the main headquarters for the Beaufort Sea/Mackenzie Delta oil and gas industry. In 1979, the Dempster Highway reached Inuvik and opened the area to ground transportation from southern communities.
